[:en]More than a dozen of children from Pintacuentos kindergarten in Las Condes enjoyed the talk that MAS researcher, Lluis Galbany, gave about meteorites.
According to Lluis, the main goal of this activity is that children could share their experiences about the meteorite that days ago they found in the backyard of the school, talking with the astronomer about how it was and how did they experience it.
“A couple of weeks ago, some meteorites fell in the school’s backyard and that’s why the children have been working on this subject. In this opportunity, I explained them what these objects were and their origin. The kids were very excited and the activity, which supposed to last only 10 minutes, it ended up taking almost 1 hour. They wanted to show what they had been working on, including a helmet to represent the journey that the meteorite does until its arrival to Earth. They were very eager to know everything about these objects,” the researcher told us.
[:es]Más de una decena de niños del Jardín Infantil Pintacuentos de la comuna de Las Condes disfrutaron de la charla que el investigador del MAS, Lluís Galbany, dictó acerca de meteoritos.
Según contó Lluís el objetivo de la actividad es que los niños pudieran compartir sus experiencias acerca del meteorito que hace unas semanas encontraron en el patio de su escuela, conversando con el astrónomo de qué se trataba y cómo lo vivieron.
“Hace un par de semanas cayeron unos meteoritos al patio del jardín y es por eso que los niños han estado trabajando en torno a eso. Mi trabajo con ellos fue explicarles qué eran y de dónde venían. Los niños se mostraron muy entusiasmados y la actividad que no debía durar más de 10 minutos, terminó siendo de casi una hora. Los niños querían mostrar los trabajos que habían estado haciendo, incluido un casco para personificar el viaje que hace el meteoroide hasta su llegada a la tierra, y estaban ávidos por saber todo de estos objetos”, cuenta el investigador.
